Argentina is growing and growing in terms of British tourists and in January 2006, the hottest month of the year, the number rose by 30.2% compared with 2004, making the UK the best performing country in Europe and the second in the world (after Brazil) in terms of tourists. All this without any non-stop flights, BA operating just four times a week via Sao Paulo, most arriving via other European hubs. In 2005 the growth of UK arrivals through Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires increased by 17.3% in comparison with 2004. The data also shows that UK tourists stay an average of 15.4 days in Argentina (higher than the 12.2 days international average), and that 66.9% of the British travelers stay in 4 or 5-star hotels. The problem is, due to what might be politely called administrative discussions, France is not issuing any and will not until next month. So watch out if you are French and the expiry date of your passport is running down (or is out) and wish to travel to America. http://www.amb-usa.fr Mar 26, 2006
